West Group Law Senior Counsel Jillian Jagling Highlighted in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

West Group Law Senior Counsel Jillian N. Jagling was highlighted in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly on December 3, 2021 for her participation in the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers Association’s (“MMLA”) 11th Annual Public Construction and Infrastructure Update on October 20, 2021. The theme this year was “Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Issues in Public Construction.” Attorney Jagling presented on Workplace Safety in Public Construction Contracts, where she discussed the apparent disproportionate impact of workplace safety on minorities. She highlighted the top accidents and most hazardous conditions on public construction sites and what Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) and Massachusetts Workplace Safety and Health Program (“WSHP”) standards are key to insure safe workplaces.

Furthermore, Attorney Jagling is the Chair of the Legislative Committee, which on behalf of the MMLA, prepares recommendations for legislation and reviews pending bills that affect Massachusetts cities and towns by solving a problem faced by municipalities; adding to municipal costs; impacting collective bargaining; affecting public health, safety or welfare; or increasing or decreasing the flexibility municipalities have in dealing with local issues.

Attorney Jagling has extensive experience in providing legal advice to public entities, including municipalities and public authorities in connection with construction, contract drafting and negotiation, and labor and employment, among numerous other practice areas. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.
